What is VAC ?
VAC serves as support center for persons suffering from ASD, parents/guardians of such persons as well as for experts in research and therapy. VAC focuses on three major tasks, as:
- Information center for parents/guardians,
- Therapy and education center for autistic persons,
- Training center for therapists.
Why VAC?
Until now in Laos existed no facilities for autistic persons. Now for the first time 14 children with ASD are getting education and therapy with the support of qualified staff from Thailand and Laos. VAC also started to fulfill its function as training center. Besides seminars for teachers and parents VAC welcomed two interns from Luang Prabang for a three months practical training as preparation for the opening of an Autism center in Luang Prabang.
